Approximately a half mile from Arrowhead RV Park is the 1,100-acre Calliham Unit of Choke Canyon State Park, which is popular for camping, boating, fishing, picnicking, bird watching and for its approximately 2.5-mile hiking trails, including a mile-long bird trail.
The Unit also features two boat ramps, tennis and basketball courts, a baseball diamond, gymnasium, group dining hall, playground and a swimming pool that is open from Memorial Day through August.
Choke Canyon has been recognized by the Audubon Society as being one of the top 25 sites in the U.S. for nearly extinct birds.
